My dearest Sumner,
It's been a beautiful Autumn day here in NC, today. It makes me think of how I'm going to love next fall, when you're here. We'll spend a day together, and go for a walk in the woods, hearing the leaves crunch under our feet. Then, we can rake them into a pile so we can jump in the leaves like little kids, and just be silly. Then after we've been outside for hours, we'll come in and make lunch together. We can bake something too. Fall always makes me want to bake! Then we'll cuddle up and watch Lost or one of our other great shows. We'll get cozy under the blankets. And I'll laugh every time you ask me "who are we? What's real? Is it all a dream?"! Then when the sky starts getting darker, we'll get out our instruments and jam a bit. Then I'll make us some hot cider, and we can sip it and just talk to each other and make out ;). It'll be wonderful! I love you, and I love daydreaming about all the times we're gonna have together and then making those dreams come true.

A Valentime's Dream
My dearest Kaitie-Girl, I'm dreaming of a valentine's day with you in our dream house near Brevard.
We start the morning with breakfast in bed, and then we eat some pancakes and bacon for food before our outing ;D.
Then I want to take you to some of the beautiful waterfalls and swimming holes around here, so we can stroll through the woods and listen to the water flowing by. We can enjoy the quiet peacefulness of the forest and winter, and you'd cuddle close to me to get warm. I'd put my arm around you and hold you tight and be so happy for the feeling of having you close.
After that we'd go to the house and I would cook you a delicious, mouth-watering valentine's day steak. We'd listen to great swing music and enjoy our lunch, then dance in the living room for hours until the late afternoon.
Then I'd take you on a hike over to the camp lake, where we would paddle around and watch the sky reflected in the water. And as the sun sets we would sit in each others arms and retell our love story, our tale of two lovers.
Then we'd kiss and return home to get ready to go out for a romantic valentine's dinner out on the town, see a wonderful concert, and come home to enjoy an evening being together and in love.

On this gray and rainy evening, I am dreaming of an evening with you spent by a fire. I would love to just snuggle up with you and listen to the crackling logs. We could toast marshmallows and read or you could tell me some of your stories. It could be so warm and cozy, and very romantic. We could sing together and play mandolin and guitar. Then maybe we'd be a little too warm and we'd have to take our clothes off ;). We could slowly savor each other and enjoy the romantic lighting. Then snuggle up together all night as the flames start to die, we'd drift off to sleep.

A day in Prater
I am dreaming of a day in fall or one cool evening where we will go to Prater. We'll stroll around and ride all of the roller coasters! There's one that goes in the dark and one with lots of loopy loops. We can hold hands when we go up really high and we'll laugh and scream. It'll be so much fun. I'm a little afraid of Ferris wheels, but it might be romantic to ride to the top so we can see the whole city from up high. I'll kiss you there. Then after we've ridden all of the rides we can, we'll get some junky fair food, and I'll share my funnel cake with you ;). Then hand in hand we'll stroll home and look at all the city lights. It will be so romantic! I can't wait to go to the amusement park with you.

The First Day
So I've been doing some planning for our first day living in Vienna together! I'm assuming you'll have the whole day on the 3rd off, and we're gonna wake up early because I want to do all the things :)
So, our date day shall begin with breakfast at 8am at Cafe Central, a regular haunt of many of the best Romantic musicians (Mahler among them, whoop whoop!). After that we'll have about an hour of time to stroll along the inner city to the Stadtpark before heading to the Kunsthistorisches Museum right when it opens at 10. Once we've absorbed some quality art, it's off to the Salm brau for a tasty lunch and delicious refreshments :D
Once we've eaten we may want to take a small break/naptime. I'm not sure how tired I'll be yet, but hopefully since I'm arriving in the evening I'll be able to get a full night's sleep and be good to go. In the afternoon I think we should go exploring in the inner city, walking around and finding the cool places/stores to look into. Then we could grab an early dinner at the 1516 bar before heading home to change, because it's a good bet that there will be a social on that evening!
I'm super excited about getting back to my home-away-from-home! After having some time away, and especially since you'll be there, I will definitely have a lot of energy and motivation to explore and live it up again!
I love you Kaitie, and I can't wait to be with you again.

Vienna with you
My Dearest Sumner,
In getting excited about my job in Vienna next fall, I've been doing a lot of dreaming about seeing the world with you. I dream about a day on a weekend where you and I will stroll around the city and look at all the beautiful places in Vienna, find a cafe somewhere and settle in for tea and some warm pastries. We'll sit and people watch and maybe you can help me with my German. We'll walk through the park with all of the composer statues and the duck pond where you took me when last we were in Vienna. Of the evenings, we'll go to the opera, and listen to the most beautiful music and I'll get to see your face light up when you hear something you think is wonderful. I'll kiss you goodnight and it will be so romantic.
Perhaps sometime while we're there, we'll take a trip. Somewhere, neither of us has been before, and we'll make all kinds of discoveries together. It will be an adventure! You are my dear companion, and the person I want to share all of my adventures with.

Hiking Trip
Dearest Kaitie-Girl,
I'm dreaming of a weekend in spring, maybe the middle of May right after you finish with school, where we pack up and do a fun hike at High Rocks. There is a perimeter trail that encompasses the whole property line of High Rocks, and I have never hiked it. I want to do it with you, so I'm dreaming of a trip like that. We'd start in Dupont State Forest, hike some of the beautiful sunny trails and explore the woods together. We'd see lovely plants and flowers, magnificent waterfalls, beautiful streams and overlooks, and have so much fun walking around and melting into nature. The great thing is that there is a trail which connects the back of High Rocks to Dupont, so we'll spend the day hiking towards camp and then make our way to the Lower Rockytop Shelter, where I took you before. We'll set up camp and gather a bit of firewood while we cook dinner. I want to bring my mandolin so we can sing and jam for a while until sunset, where I want to take you up to the Rockytop lookout. We'll watch the sunset in each others' arms, and then come back for the obligatory campfire, s'mores, stories, and then bed. Then we can spend the whole next day hiking the perimeter trail. I want to show you High Rocks and share it with you, because it's really the best place in the whole world to me and I want you to be a part of it too. You are my special companion, and everything that's beautiful and good reminds me of you. When I can share that special place with you, everything is more exciting, wonderful, and beautiful.
We'll hike the trail and arrive back home, where we can clean up and lie together, letting all the world melt away until it's just us. I love having you by my side and I dream of the day when you'll be there once more.
